What it does

Returns the value at a given row and column within a range.

Syntax

INDEX(array, row_num, [column_num])

Arguments

  • array(range|array) β€” Range to return a value from.
  • row_num(number) β€” Row position in array (1-based).
  • column_num(number) β€” Column position in array (1-based, optional).

Examples

Return by position

Return the value at row 2, column 3 of A2:C4.
